Library Cards

Getting a Library Card
To check out library materials and use library computers, permanent and part-time residents can apply for a library card by showing a government issued photo ID and proof of their mailing address. Visitors that wish to make use of library materials and services can apply for a visitor card.
Library card applications can be completed at the library or online. Completed online applications will be processed within 1 day and applicants will receive details and instructions via email. The library card will be held at the library until applicant can show proof of identification and pick up their card. Electronic cards will not be renewed without in-proof verification.
When applying in person, library staff will collect contact information and patrons will receive their card on the spot with proof of ID and address. If a new patron does not have proof of address, he/she may check out 1 item and/or receive a guest pass for using the computers.
Getting a Visitor Card
Temporary guests in the Pagosa Springs area can apply for a visitor card. Visitor cards are issued at the time of application and expire after 3 months, or at a time determined by length of stay. Visitors can check out up to 5 items at a time. Visiting patrons must present their physical library card or photo ID to check out library materials. Visitors do not have access to the statewide Prospector interlibrary loan service.
No library card? No ID? No problem!
We offer guest passes for those people who need to access the internet or may have forgotten their card.
Getting a Guest Pass
Guests of any age can request a guest pass at the checkout desk. A guest pass allows a daily session (1 hour) of library computer use. If there is no one waiting on a computer, this time can be extended.
Patron Borrowing Priviledges
New patrons may borrow up to 10 items at time.
After 3 months, permanent and part-time resident cardholders can check out up to 50 library items (DVD limit=10) for 3 weeks at a time.
Patrons must present their physical library card or photo ID to check out library materials.
A parent or guardian must sign for a child.
Replacement cards are $2.
