Weeding our collection of audio books
plus a request for donations

By Carole Howard and the Library Staff

We currently are weeding our collection of audio books to make room for new titles. Books on tape or CD that are being pulled from the shelves have not been checked out in two years, contain dated material or are damaged. Discarding outdated materials keeps the collection current and makes room for new materials.

If you have any books on tape or CDs that you no longer need, we would greatly appreciate your donating them to the library, as they are very popular with many of our patrons. CDs especially are increasingly in demand, among other reasons because many new cars and trucks have only CD players these days.

By the way, as always, the items we are taking off the shelves will be sold at our in-house book sale or held for the Friends of the Library’s book sale July 20-21, thus raising funds for the library to purchase new books and materials.

Notecards benefit library
Two different sets of lovely notecards featuring women reading are being sold now by Friends of the Library to raise funds for the library. Each box contains 20 notecards and envelopes with five copies of four different paintings at a cost of only $14.95. The artwork is beautiful, with contributions by famous painters like impressionist Mary Cassett. Another, by George Dunlop Leslie, shows a mother and daughter reading “ Alice in Wonderland.” The notecards are available at the library and at Home Again. They would make a very special gift for an important woman in your life – especially if she loves to read.
