Thanksgiving thoughts for you and your family

By Carole Howard and the Library Staff

As families and friends gather this weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving, we offer some thoughts from great Americans reflecting on this important national holiday:

Closed over Thanksgiving

The library will be closed November 22, 23 and 24 for Thanksgiving and for carpet cleaning.

Books on mindful living

We have two additional books by spiritual leader and Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. “Peace is Every Step” shows how to make positive use of the very situations like a ringing telephones, red lights or traffic jams that too often pressure and antagonize us. “Touching Peace” teaches us mindful breathing and the awareness of what is refreshing and healing within us and all around us.

Books making news

“The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court” by bestselling author and legal commentator on TV Jeffrey Toobin takes readers inside the chambers of the most important legal body of our country, and reveals the complex dynamic among the nine people who decide the law of the land.

Books for 3rd through 7th graders
