Wealth of books on CD just in time for summer driving

If you have a lot of driving in your summer plans, or if you just like to listen to books on CD at home, then you’ll want to review this selection of CDs that has come into the library, most of them unabridged:
More religious books and Christian fiction
“The Case for a Creator” by Lee Strobel examines the science that points to intelligent design. “Straight Talk” by Joyce Meyer helps you combat depression, discouragement, fear, insecurity, loneliness and stress with the power of God’s word. “The God I Love” is a memoir by Joni Eareckson Tada, who became a quadriplegic after a diving accident three decades ago. “Healing the Heart” by Dr. Deepak Chopra is a spiritual approach to reversing coronary artery disease. “Jesus in Beijing” by David Aikman documents how Christianity is transforming China and changing the global balance of power. “The Postcard” and “The Crossroad” are two novels by Beverly Lewis about a young Amish widow and a world-weary journalist. “Oceans Apart” by Karen Kingsbury is a story about an airline pilot and his family facing a huge crisis.
How-to books: Cooking and crafts
“The South Beach Diet Cookbook” contains more than 200 recipes adhering to the principles of Dr. Arthur Agatston. “The Ultimate Weight Solution Cookbook” is by TV’s Dr. Phil McGraw. “1001 Ideas for Stationery, Cards and Invitations” by Laura McFadden explains simple and stylish projects using handmade and digital techniques.
Large-print books
“Moonlight on the Millpond” by Lori Wick is book one of the Tucker Mills historical Christian fiction trilogy. “Rekindled” by Tamera Alexander is book one of the Fountain Creek Chronicles. “Meet Me in Venice” by Elizabeth Adler is a love story about an American antiques dealer living in Paris. “High Noon” by Nora Roberts features Phoebe MacNamara, Savannah’s top hostage negotiator. “The Good Guy,” the latest by Dean Koontz, is now available in large print as well as on CD. “Back on Blossom Street” by Debbie Macomber is the story of women in a knitting class who help each other solve their problems.
Stories of real people
“The Diana Chronicles” by Tina Brown, former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, is one of the book’s generating a huge amount of interest this summer for its insights and excellent writing. “The Prince” by William Simpson is the story of Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.S. from 1983 to 2005. “Lone Survivor” by Marcus Luttrell is the eyewitness account of Operation Redwing and the lost heroes of Seal Team 10
